South Africa

September, 2013 will be forever remembered as the time that we spent three magnificent weeks visiting South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia, in the southern part of the African continent.  With 10 safaris on land and 2 on the Chobe and Zambezi rivers, we managed to see animals from every available species.  We got up close and personal with elephants, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, kudus, hippos (well not too close) and many other animals that are unique to Africa.  We experienced the wonders of Victoria Falls, Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope and stood at the southernmost point of the continent where the warm currents of the Indian Ocean meet the cold currents of the Atlantic.  We met the people of this region, learned about their culture, enjoyed their food, experienced their singing and dancing and visited their schools and villages.  Before departing this adventure, we fell in love with Cape Town - a place we hope to revisit someday.

There were many highlights, only some of which are captured in the photos here and in the brief video clips.  Use the links below to share our favorite experiences.
