MUCKROSS ABBEY

Founded in 1448, damaged, destroyed and reconstructed several time, it now serves as a graveyard.  Today, the Abbey still has its bell tower and church, massive gothic arcades and arches and in the center of the inner court is an old Yew tree.  We visited Muckross House, passed the gardens and the traditional farm and hiked to the abbey.
