Scenic Byway - Highway 12, Utah
After leaving Bryce Canyon, we decided to take a detour along the beautiful Scenic Byway (Highway 12) from the National Park site to Interstate 70, before continuing on to Colorado Springs. The views were spectacular at every turn, but we didn't stop to take pictures. The ones shown below were borrowed from a web site and show scenes along the stretch from Panguitch to Torrey (see map).

We headed east from Torrey and spent the night in Hanksville, Utah in the shadow of the Henry Mountains. We took the picture shown below after enjoying a hearty breakfast at a popular cafe.
