The Trulli of Alberobello

Among the many wonderful sites that that we enjoyed during our trip to Southern Italy, none was more fascinating than the Trulli of Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Located in the Province of Bari, in the Region of Puglia, these limestone structures are made up of boulders collected from neighboring fields and stacked upon each other, without mortar, in a conical shape with pointed roofs.  You can learn more about these unique structures and their construction here.
